The total passenger volume is 99 cubic feet for the Civic Sedan LX and Sport. This goes down to 96.6 cubic feet in the EX and Touring, which come standard with the moonroof, taking headroom from 39.3 inches in the front to 37.6 inches. The headroom in the back remains 37.1 inches with or without the moonroof.
The LX, Sport, and EX trims all feature a manual driver's seat height adjustment. The top-level Touring trim provides an eight-way power-adjustable driver's seat, four-way power-adjustable passenger seat, and leather-trimmed upholstery. Both the EX and Touring feature heated front seats, a 60/40 split folding rear seat, and a rear-seat center armrest. In the LX and Sport, the rear seats fold but are not split.
All Honda Civic Sedans come with a continuously variable transmission (CVT). On the LX, this provides 31/40/35 MPG city/highway combined. The Sport offers 30/37/33 MPG, the EX provides 33/42/36 MPG, and the Touring sedan gives you 31/38/34 MPG.
Honda Civic Hatchback

The rear is larger than both the Mazda 3 and the Toyota Corolla by 3 inches and 7.5 inches, respectively.
Like the sedan, the Civic hatchback loses a moderate amount of space to the moonroof that's included in the EX-L and Sport Touring trims. The hatchback offers the same 99 cubic feet of passenger volume without the moonroof and 86.6 cubic feet with it. The measurements for headroom are the same between the sedan and hatchback as well.
While the interior comforts of the sedan and hatchback are nearly identical, the Civic Hatchback offers enhanced comforts like a driver's seat with an eight-way power adjustment and leather-trimmed seats at both the EX-L and Sport Touring trims while you have to get to the top trim level in the sedan for these comforts. You'll find a 60/40 split folding rear seat in all trim levels for more flexibility in accessing the hatchback's enhanced storage.
Though nearly all Honda Civics come with CVT automatic transmissions, the Sport and Sport Touring hatchbacks stand out by offering the option of a six-speed manual transmission. This reduces the fuel efficiency to 26/36/29 city/highway/combined for the Sport and 28/37/31 for the Sport Touring. With the CVT transmission, the LE hatchback gets 30/38/33 MPG, the Sport hatchback delivers 29/37/32 MPG, the EX-L offers 31/39/35 MPG and the Sport Touring provides 30/37/33 MPG.
