For the Honda Civic, the Sport sedan has an MSRP of $26,145, the EX trim has an MSRP of $21,545, and the Sport Touring has an MSRP of $31,145. As a hatchback, the Honda Civic has an MSRP of $26,945, $29,245, and $32,045 on the Sport, EX-L, and Sport Touring trims.

The 2023 Toyota Corolla has an MSRP of $22,645 for the LE trim and $24,100 for the SE trim. The Hybrid trim is the cheapest, with an MSRP of $23,895.

Fuel Economy

Toyota modified the powertrain of the 2023 sedan and hatchback to improve fuel efficiency. As a result, the front-wheel-drive hybrid sedan has an efficient fuel economy of 50 miles per gallon. The all-wheel-drive powertrain, however, has a lower gas economy, capped at 48 miles per gallon. The gas-powered version has a fuel economy of 31/40 for city and highway driving, while the hybrid model has a gas mileage of 53/46 for city and highway driving.

The 2023 Honda Civic has a gas mileage of 33 miles per gallon for city driving and 42 miles per gallon for highway driving. So, if you're looking for a car with good fuel economy on the highway, you're better off with the Honda Civic.

Performance

Both the Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla boast incredible engine performance for all road conditions. The 2023 Honda Civic has a 2.0-liter engine producing 158 horsepower for the base trims. The higher trims cruise on a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine producing 180 horsepower. Another variant of the 1.5-liter engine produces an incredible 200 horsepower for the sedan and hatchback.

Similarly, the 2023 Toyota Corolla has a powerful 2.0-liter engine producing 169 horsepower. The hybrid models, however, have a 1.8 liter, four-cylinder engine with 134 horsepower.

Both manufacturers recently introduced high-performance models with greater engine outputs. The 2023 Toyota Corolla has an additional 1.6 liter, turbocharged engine with an incredible 300 horsepower. The Honda Civic Type R boasts a 2.0-liter engine with four cylinders producing 315 horsepower.

Infotainment

Honda and Toyota have made remarkable improvements in their infotainment systems, superseding previous models. The 2023 Honda Civic has two infotainment systems spread across various models.  

First is the 7-inch touch screen featuring selection knobs, volume controls, and a user interface. Using the control knobs, you can select music tracks, navigate through the menu, select radio, and input USB media. It also has eight powerful speakers to enhance audio quality.

The second option is the 9-inch touch screen with features similar to the 7-inch version. In addition, it has a finger rest, satellite navigation, a voice command prompt, and a 12-speaker premium audio system.

The 2023 Toyota Corolla has a high-end audio multimedia system on all trim levels. It features an 8-inch touch screen, Bluetooth, radio, navigation maps, and 4G internet connectivity. Additionally, Toyota's infotainment system has a voice prompt through which you can get directions, adjust the volume, and change settings.

Comfort

The Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla offer all-around comfort in their hatchback and sedan designs. However, Honda Civic takes the lead, thanks to a spacious cabin for up to five seated occupants.  

The dashboard has a unique design with efficient vents leading outward for air circulation and an automated temperature control mechanism that allows you to regulate indoor temperatures. The second row has air ducts similar to those in an SUV.

The 2023 Toyota Corolla is equally comfortable, with a limousine-style interior finish. The high-quality plastic finish complements the beautiful black cloth upholstery on the interior, while the higher trim levels have soft, inspiring leather covers.
