The first thing you're going to notice about the 2023 Honda Pilot is the redesigned exterior. It has a much boxier look to it now, which gives it a more rugged appearance overall. You'll also notice that the 2023 Pilot has a more powerful 3.5-liter V-6 engine than its predecessor, which can produce up to 285 horsepower, as well as a 10-speed automatic transmission that delivers a much smoother ride. But that isn't all that's changed. It has a brand-new interior as well. Let's check out what the interior of the 2023 Honda Pilot has to offer below.

Design

The 2023 Honda Pilot is a family-friendly SUV, and you'll see that reflected in the design of its interior. There are lots of easy-to-clean materials sprinkled throughout the vehicle that'll make maintaining it a breeze. These materials are mostly jet black, so you won't have to worry about your family marking or staining the interior. It's also worth noting that the design of the 2023 Pilot's interior is a lot more luxurious than you might expect. With this model, Honda chose premium materials to use throughout for a high-end feel.

Seating

Because the 2023 Honda Pilot was created with families in mind, it shouldn't come as a surprise that you'll be able to fit either seven or eight passengers into every trim level of the newest Pilot. Each one comes loaded with three standard rows of seating, including supportive and roomy front seats. Plus, if you decide to go with the EX-L trim, you'll be treated to optional captain's chairs in the second row. These captain's chairs also come standard in the TrailSport trim.

Meanwhile, the Touring and Elite trims have innovative second rows that'll enable you to remove the middle seats and store them on the floor of the cargo area. It'll give you and your family more room to spread out when you only need to seat seven at a time. It also makes it easier for you to store all your cargo too.

Comfort

The 2022 Honda Pilot was already pretty spacious in terms of passenger volume. But Honda managed to create even more space for families and groups inside the 2023 model, regardless of which trim you choose. The 2022 Pilot provided between 151.7 and 153.1 cubic feet of passenger volume, depending on the trim. With the 2023 Pilot, Honda has expanded that space to between 154.9 and 158.4 cubic feet. That might not seem like much, but it'll make a big difference in the legroom offered by the second and third rows inside the latest model of the Honda Pilot.

Cargo

You might be under the impression that Honda must have reduced the cargo area in the 2023 Honda Pilot to make more room for passengers. But this couldn't be further from the truth. Honda made it a point to add more cargo volume to the 2023 Pilot, and they've succeeded in style.

You'll be treated to almost 19 cubic feet of cargo space when you have all three rows of seating in place. But you'll also have the option to remove and reconfigure the seating to provide up to 87 cubic feet of cargo space when you want to take a road trip outside Hanover or need to haul supplies for a home project. An optional power liftgate makes stowing supplies a breeze.

Technology

Even if you decide to stick with the standard technology found in the 2023 Honda Pilot, you'll be satisfied with what you get. The new Pilot comes with a 7-inch infotainment touch-screen display along with a 7-inch digital gauge cluster. You'll also have the option to upgrade to a larger 9-inch infotainment touch-screen display in some trims, such as the TrailSport, Touring, and Elite. Additionally, you'll get access to a 10.2-inch gauge cluster in the advanced Elite trim. These displays will run Honda's intuitive new infotainment interface and include features such as Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto.

You'll also get to dramatically improve the audio found in the 2023 Honda Pilot by upgrading to the 12-speaker Bose stereo system, which is standard in the Touring and Elite trims. These trims will also offer other awesome features, including a panoramic sunroof with a moonroof and luxurious leather-trimmed heated front seats.

Safety

From the second you first sit inside a 2023 Honda Pilot, you'll sense just how different it is from all the Pilot models that came before it. But at least one thing will remain the same — the safety features. Honda has made a serious commitment to making all its vehicles as safe as possible in recent years, which holds true with the 2023 Pilot.

The 2023 Honda Pilot includes the Honda Sensing suite of driver-assistance features found in most Honda models today. It'll provide you with a slew of standard safety features such as automatic high-beam headlights, automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, a multi-angle rearview camera, blind-spot information with cross-traffic monitor, and much, much more.

As a result, you aren't just going to feel comfortable when you're inside the 2023 Pilot; you're going to feel as safe as can be, too. It's just one more thing you'll really appreciate about the all-new 2023 Pilot and what it brings to the table.
